Labor Day Weekend

We had a blast over Labor Day Weekend! Our goal was to have as much fun as possible and I think we succeeded!
We started off Friday night by going to our Ward Party at the Kearns Rec swimming pool. We rented the outdoor pool so it was just our ward, but it was from 8-10 pm. We kept them up late, but it was awesome to have the pool so empty!
On Saturday, we spent 10 hours at Lagoon! We haven't had a chance to go to Lagoon this Summer so that was our #1 goal. We found a good deal directly through Lagoon for the Labor Day weekend. The only catch was we needed 6-12 people to get the best deal so we tried to recruit family to no avail. Luckily, some friends asked if they could come with us. Yeah!!! We hadn't planned on staying so long, but time goes by so fast when you are having fun. The kids would have kept going, but we had to stop somewhere.
We went with our friends, The Hawker's and The Lundy's. It worked perfectly because they have little kids like us so the dad's were able to sneak away every once in awhile to go ride more fun rides and the mom's still had company.
We worked it out where we got to Lagoon right as it was opening and rode the Adult rides that we wanted to make sure we rode first. The kids were pretty patient while they watched us ride and waited for their turn. We expected Lagoon to be busy, but it wasn't too bad. The longest lines we waited in were for the water rides.
Then we let the kids choose what to ride.
We started off on these planes. Eliza was terrified! Looking back, it probably wasn't the best way to introduce her to amusement parks.
She does love Carousels though so she was perfectly happy here. We tried her on a few other rides and she screamed through most of them. She was content to sit in the stroller and watch most of the time.
Brooklyn was ready to ride everything!
And she did. She rode rides with Meredith and Madi and had a blast!
She would get off a ride and want to ride the exact ride over again. We tired to keep them trying new rides though because they have a lot of rides.
She was a bit nervous on this ride. She screamed through it last year. This year, she rode it about 4 times and would have done it lots more. She just had to hold our hand.
And for the record, she likes the Dinosaur Drop better than the Ladybug Drop.
Toward the end of the day, there were tired-girl melt-downs for not getting the exact color and spot of the rides they wanted, but somehow we all survived!
I think Brooklyn rode about every kiddie ride possible. The lines were really short in kiddie land, but the employees were incredibly slow. She even rode some bigger rides that she was tall enough for and LOVED them!
We wore her out though because she even took a nap on Sunday and this kid rarely naps!

On Monday, we actually did a little work. Marty mowed the lawn. Then that afternoon, we went to a Bee's Game. It was Harmon's Family Night so they were cheap tickets. It was pretty boring game that ended quickly. Thank goodness because it was pretty hot with the sun shining directly over head.
Grandma Pam came with us as well. We spoiled the girls with a Snow Cone, which cost more than a ticket to get in, and they couldn't get enough!
Then that evening we enjoyed a BBQ with some friends from our neighborhood. Overall, the weekend was PERFECT! I love holiday weekends!
