Family pics

And here are some pictures of the family. We arrived a little early so the lighting wasn't perfect for our family pictures. Oh we'll, we will probably need a new family pic once little boy arrives anyway. :)
My mom came with us to help push the button. Thanks Mom!

Brooklyn loves having her picture taken and is pretty photogenic overall so it wasn't hard to get some good ones of her!

Eliza, on the other hand, is a complete goof! She doesn't like to pose or smile naturally. So instead we tried to get her to smile and hold still for a good 30 minutes.
And we got many, many pictures of her and her silly faces. But of course I'm only posting the good ones.

She has always made every photographer work for a good picture of her and her dad was no exception. I finally had to tell her we could leave if she would just smile and ta-da!....it worked!

This last picture is a cool shot Marty took of the river. Love it! And again, these pictures are all unedited. ;)

Maternity pics - 37 weeks

I wanted some pictures to document this part of my life since I'm honestly not sure if I will ever be pregnant again. Marty wanted an excuse to practice using our new camera. So we decided to head up Big Cottonwood Canyon on September 15th to take some pictures of me as well as the girls and our family. This post will just include pictures of me, but I'll post the others soon. I was just shy of 37 weeks when these were taken but I'm now 38 weeks. Phew! Only a few more weeks to go!

I thought Marty did a fabulous job! Especially since this is his first photo shoot. Plus, these aren't even edited yet. He learned lots too!

A Fun Family Night

On the first day of school (August 27th), we decided to go downtown to Salt Lake for dinner and Family Night. We went to dinner at the Lion House Pantry because I had a birthday card for a free meal there. It was still pretty expensive, but it was something out of the ordinary so it was fun.
Brooklyn expected something great for her first day of school and I think she was a little disappointed.
Marty had a lot of fun taking pictures of the girls. He's learning lots wit his new camera. The above picture was not what he was looking for, but I like it!
The girls trying to be like the lions behind them.
 Silly Eliza!
 Brooklyn and the temple.
The Salt Lake Temple always looks amazing!
Eliza kept holding on to Brooklyn like this. Brooklyn was annoyed, but was overall a good sport.
 And again.
Brooklyn loves her picture taken. Eliza? Not so much.

Marty and I had a good time even though the girls expected more. We just only seem to walk around Temple Square in the Winter to see the lights so it was fun to see it during the Summer with all the pretty flowers and water fountains.

Captain Underpants!

My girls love playing dress up! Eliza loves to dress up in Princess attire, but also loves her super hero cape and mask (that she got from her dentist).
After dinner one night she came out looking like this! We laughed and laughed and called her Captain Underpants!
She wasn't a fan of her new name.
She quickly ran off to put on some clothes!

Little boy room

Our Labor Day weekend of fun was turning a white room into a little boy's room. Marty was a good sport about it and willingly took on the task! Eliza slept in this room, but we never changed it to anything special because we figured one day she would share a room with Brooklyn. We moved her in with Brooklyn (and made their bunk beds) a few weeks prior to this.
It was fun to pick out a blue color! I decided to try the board and batten technique in this room since I love the way it looks and I wanted something different. The first step was painting the blue. This project would have been done in one day if all we did was paint.
But instead it took two days because we had to cut the boards, prime, paint and then put them on the wall. The girls had fun being our little helpers even though they didn't understand why we were changing the room at all.

Two of my favorite helpers! Even though Brooklyn would have loved to help paint more, I was in OCD mode and didn't really let her help much. Marty let her do lots with him in the garage though.
Marty had the hard work. I can paint, but he had to figure all the rest out!
I'm happy I married a handyman!
I love the way it looks! Marty and the girls even managed to go swimming for a few hours on Labor Day (since the outdoor pool was going to close for the year). I chose to stay home and finish the touch up work. I'm a very OCD painter! I'm often found with a tiny little paint brush trying to make it look just so.
And here is the room with some of the decorations and vinyl. We went with the sport theme. Hopefully he likes sports someday!
I had fun painting and decorating this magnet board too.
I LOVE this room and often find myself just sitting in there enjoying it! Plus, it's a great feeling to know I'm one step closer to this baby making his appearance.
