Lagoon

Last weekend over Memorial Day weekend, my brother wanted us to join his family at Lagoon. We thought it sounded fun, but were a little worried about the weather. We all hoped the cold weather would scare everyone off. No such luck! Everyone had the same idea. I haven't seen Lagoon that busy in a long time! When we pulled into the park at 10:30 am, the parking lot was filling up fast so we knew we were in for a busy day.
We were able to get a good deal through the Internet so it was worth it even with all the crowds. We weren't going to buy Eliza a ticket because last year she hated every ride and screamed through them. But once she saw Lagoon and exclaimed "Wow!" full of excitement, we knew we had to buy her a ticket. Luckily, the toddler passes weren't too much more then what we paid.
We started off slow this year. Part of our problem last year was we started Eliza off on a fast ride. This time, she started off with the baby boats. Brooklyn wanted to ride with her cousin so she rode by herself. We were worried she would change her mind after we put her in the boat.
But she loved it! She wanted to go again and again, but we tried to convince her to try a few other rides because the boat ride is extremely slow.
Brooklyn and Sariah were a few boats behind Eliza.
Brooklyn loves this ride, The Dinosaur Drop. Sariah didn't.
The Carousel is always fun. Though Eliza doesn't really like it. I think the key with her is to stick with the slow rides. Nothing fast or spiny.
Eliza did enjoy the train even though she didn't want to ride it. The animals were really impressive this year. They have more lions and "cats" than the zoo.
Brooklyn loves all the rides. She loves the Musical Express ride (my favorite as a child). Eliza was too small. It was so nice to have my mom there as well so she could help with the smaller ones. She didn't ride too many rides, but she was ok with just being there with everyone.
One of Marty's favorite rides as a kid, The Flying Aces. He loved having Brooklyn ride it with him. He loves that she's big and brave enough to ride rides with him now.
"Puff" is always a favorite. By this time, the rain is starting. The poor kids were "stuck" on Puff because they couldn't get it to stop in the right spot due to the rain. They were able to ride it a few extra times around. They didn't complain about that but didn't like that they couldn't get out for awhile.
Eliza's absolute favorite ride was the cars! She rode them by herself, with her sister, with her cousin, Jamon, with whoever would ride them with her.
She rode them at least 20 times! She would get off, do a little "happy feet" dance and run to the beginning of the line exclaiming "again! again!". Marty was good sport to let her go again and again. I believe she only rode the boats, the train and the cars. She wouldn't try anything else.
We all had a good time! It was a warm sometimes and cold at other times. The rain really started coming down around 6 pm. When we looked at the sky and realized it wasn't going to stop, we decided to pack up and go home. I think the rain stopped by Monday morning. :)
Now the girls keep asking when we can go back. Eliza calls it "Goon" and keeps saying "I go to Goon and ride cars?" I'm so glad she enjoyed herself!
