Moab

This weekend we drove to Moab for Marty to participate in the Skinny Tire Festival (a bike ride). Fortunately, his little sister, Charlotte, now lives there so it was a good excuse to see her new house and visit with her. Also, it was nice to have a free place to stay! Marty's parents also came along for the ride since they hadn't seen Charlotte's new house either.
We arrived there late Friday night and came home Sunday evening. Marty completed his bike ride on Saturday, but I'm not sure he would say he enjoyed it this year. He rode what they call "The Big Nasty", which is climbing 3000 ft in 7 miles! He also said there were more hills than that and said he was climbing hills for 4 hours straight. He was about dead by the time he finished. Sometimes I wonder why he does it, but it's something he enjoys! He rode a total of 60 miles that day.
The rest of us enjoyed spending the day with family. Brooklyn enjoyed Charlotte's swing set, sandbox, and their neighbors kittens. It was nice and warm there and the perfect temperature at night! It was lovely. Now we are back to cold Salt Lake. Here comes Fall!

Congratulations Marty! That's a huge accomplishment I most likely will never do. It feels really good to work so hard and finish things.

That is a really neat picture, by the way!

The Big Nasty... sounds nasty to me! I just wonder why people do things like this willingly... and for fun no less! Good for him though!

Cool! How many miles total was the ride? Looks like fun! Great job Marty!
