Last Sunday, my mom had a great turnout from her ward to help her with her roof. So with their help, along with two of my brothers, they were able to get all the shingles off. Marty wanted to attempt to put the new shingles on Monday, but the snow stopped him. The roof started to leak a little so Marty went up to patch some holes after work. Tuesday was a crazy day for him at work so he wasn't able to do it that day either. Ironically, the weather was pretty good. Wednesday was ok, but Marty went to work then went up to my mom's house to get a "start" on the project. He worked for about 4 hours and got a good portion of the front of the house done.
Thursday was Veteran's Day. Marty works for a bank so he had the day off to dedicate to the roof. He worked along with a friend all day. He had a few helpers from my mom's ward and my brother and another friend of Marty's joined them later after he worked a full day at his job.
They worked all day and part of the night, but they are done. My mom is extremely grateful. The guys are happy it's done, though they are still sore. I'm grateful I didn't have to get up on the roof again. The hardest thing I had to do was handle my girls for longer than normal and sacrifice a holiday with my husband. Sometimes I wondered if being on the roof might be easier. :) Thanks again to everyone that helped. It's good to be done. Now on to another project.

You have a lucky mom, that was really nice of Marty to do for her. She'll enjoy it for many years!
good job! I'm jealous of Marty's bankers holidays. How would that be? :) You both deserve it!
