On Monday, July 18th, we went to a Salt Lake Bee's game. Marty has been wanting to go all season so when we looked at the calendar we realized it was the last time we could go on Harmon's Family night ($5 tix with a free hot dog--great deal!) before Brooklyn started school. All baseball games go pretty late so we needed to go on a non-school night. Marty's parents wanted to go as well.
We told the girls we were going to a baseball game and eating dinner there. They were both VERY excited!
Eliza just kept saying "we go to the baseball game and eat dinner. Yay!"
Brooklyn was excited that she would see her grandparents!
We had pretty great seats down the first base line and 5 rows up!
Brooklyn bought her baseball glove and was ready to catch the ball! Unfortunately, nothing came our way.
Brooklyn loved her hot dog. She said it tasted like sausage. :) She must love sausage because she ate a whole brat a few weeks ago.
Eliza enjoyed hers as well (she didn't have a seat so she ate her grandma's hot dog). Don't worry, grandma wasn't hungry. :)
Here we are.
And from the other way.
Funny thing was it was my nephew, Micah's, birthday and they had their party at the bee's game. We weren't invited to go with them, but my mom was and they were just one section over from us. It was nice to have two seats for Eliza because she got bored easily so then she would go sit with my mom (and her popcorn) for awhile. It worked out pretty well.
For Micah's birthday, the bee mascot came over and hung out the with party for a bit. Brooklyn is terrified, beyond terrified, of the bee. Eliza recognizes Brooklyn is afraid so she was nervous too. She would want to see him and then get too nervous. This was as close as she would get to the bee.
The party shared two cupcakes with the girls. Eliza would eat popcorn and then the frosting off the cupcake. Not the best mix, but she was happy!
The bee's lost big time. We left the game at the end of the 8th inning because it was past 10 pm and the score was 12-0 with Sacramento winning. Looks like we might have missed the best inning though because the final score was 14-3 with Sacramento winning.

Fun! Love baseball games, but we still need to take our kids. They would have a blast!
